“Storytime Express” New at Canby Library
The Canby Public Library is starting a new program for young readers—“Storytime Express.”
In this program, preschool and early elementary kids can check out books based around a central theme, then read the books and complete fun projects at their own speed within each month. The books for each theme are pulled from the stacks and are easily picked up at the children’s section of the library. The projects that go with the reading materials are available in a take-home packet, or may be downloaded directly off the internet.
Reading five books from the reading list and completing three of the projects within the month qualifies each child for a prize from the “prize box.”
This program will take the place of regular Storytime for the next three months, when longer days and warmer temperatures will make coming for Storytime easier for both kids and parents.
To sign up for Storytime Express, call the library at 507-223-5738 or stop by the Library to sign up and pick up your books and activity packet. Starting Feb 1st.
Adult coloring is Wednesday nights starting at 6:00 p.m. and Thursday mornings from 11:00 -12:30. Color pencils, markers and color sheets are provided.
All adults are welcome to come.
Sign up at the library and read 10 books from Jan 18th to April 15th and receive a prize.
