Welcome to the Minnesota Author Project.
Through this project, libraries are helping local authors get the recognition they deserve for writing great books. This year’s contest kicks off on April 1, 2018, and submissions will be accepted through June 30, 2018.



Steel Magnolia Bus Trip

The bus trip scheduled for Friday, April 13, 2018 to the Lake Benton Opera House has been postponed due to weather concerns. We will let you know if we can reschedule for next weekend when we hear back from the Lake Benton Opera House.

National Library Week April 8-14th

National Library Week is April 8-14 and the library will be having an Open House on Tuesday, April 10th from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served. During the week we will be having activities everyday like Adult coloring, Paper Suncatchers, Story time, Kids Coloring and a movie on Saturday.

Library Book Club

Canby Public Library book club will meet on Tuesday, April 3rd at 10:30 a.m. and will be discussing the book “My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry” by Fredrik Backman. Everyone is welcome.


Wayward Women of The West

Learn about some famous and not so famous women of the West like Sacajawea, Sacred Sun, Annie Oakley, Calamity Jane.                              


Library Non-Fiction Book Club

Do you like to read non-fiction?
We are starting a Non-Fiction Book Club Thursday, March 15th at 6:00 p.m.. We will meet every 3rd Thursday of the month. Anyone interested is welcome to come.

MN Writes MN Reads

Local authors – indie, self-published, aspiring, and mainstream – can now create ebooks and share them with readers across the state and potentially across the country using free tools provided by Minnesota libraries.
