Winter Reading Program

The Winter Reading Program, Reading Is Snow Much Fun, is off! Sign up at the library. The program is open to ages 13 through adult. Once you sign up, you will receive a bookmark and a tote bag. The goal is to read, view, or listen to 10 books, DVDs, or audiobooks from January 2, 2018 – March 31, 2018. Bring in your bookmark each time to get it marked for each item you view or read. Once you reach 5 items, you will receive a can cozy. When you reach 10 items, you will receive a candy bar. While 10 is the goal of the reading program, keep bringing in your bookmark to get marked. The top three readers during the Winter Reading Program will get a special prize. For the top three prizes, we will not be counting DVDs. Let the reading begin!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Program Overview

One of the best ways to encourage learning is to spend time sharing books every day. Reading together helps develop important pre-reading skills that provide a solid reading foundation, a key to school and learning success. By reading less than 3 stories a day, you and your child will have read over 1,000 books in one year! Not to mention, sharing stories together is fun.

How the program works:

Register and receive your library bag

Read to your child

Record each book read to your child

When you finish 500 books your child will receive a prize

After finishing 1,000 books your child will receive

1-A graduation party

2-A certificate of completion

3-An awesome jump start on success in school

Please contract the Dawson library (320) 769-2069 with any questions about the program!
